Drum-in-Housing magnets perform ferrous metal removal from free flowing dry bulk material Systems. The design of the drum magnet is to allow for continuous cleaning of the magnet system.
The product being processed enters the housing and flows across the drum. As the product flows, the outer shell rotates around the magnet material which remains in place. All non-magnetic product falls in the metal free zone, all magnetic material remains on the drum until it is moved past the magnetic field and is released into the metal collection area.
Standard sizes from 8" dia. to 36" dia. and length from 12" to 72". Custom sizes available.
Drum Magnets are available, Please conact MSI for more deatils.
Fluid enters wet drum tank where shown along the inlet side of the drum (see "Fluid Inlet" on drawing)
Fluid passes in the limited radial space under the magnetic drum. (See "Controlled flow through magnetic field")
The magnetic field of the drum retrieves the target ferrous particles against the rotating drum shell
As the drum shell rotates, the ferrous material attracted to the drum passes out of the magnetic field of the stationary magnet, depositing the ferrous material on the outlet side of the separator. (See "Separator Wedge for Magnetic Material")
Cleaned fluid passes to the holding tank and discharge under the drum. (See "Tank and Discharge")
